Software and Add-In Card Give Pocket PC Users Customized Channel Surfing,  Full Universal Remote Functions with Extended Range


PHOENIX, Ariz., June 18, 2002 -- Pocket PC Magazine, the leading magazine for handheld and Pocket PC computing, has named the UltraMoteä universal remote combo as a “Gupta’s Great” in the September issue.

Pocket PC Magazine is distributed to 70,000 paid subscribers, distributed by Microsoft at numerous trade shows and also is distributed on newsstands across the country to another 100,000 readers. According to third-party products editor Nitin Gupta, “It was amazing to see the number of excellent hardware accessories and options, such as the UltraMote remote combo, available for the Pocket PC. These options give users fun and interesting ways to use their Pocket PCs.”

The UltraMote combo lets Pocket PC users channel surf, control their DVD players, set up the VCR, control the audio, change the lighting, or control any number of tasks related to the home theater, at a fraction of the cost of many dedicated universal remotes.

UltraMote can be customized to include a user’s personal graphics or symbols onscreen.  Up to 10 device screens for up to 10 different users and/or locations can be set up.  UltraMote and the patent-pending UltraMote Extender, which increases the device’s infrared range to up to 50 feet, support all models of the Compaq/HP iPAQ, the AudioVox Maestro and Toshiba E570 Pocket PCs; the software also supports the Jornada 56x series.  These Pocket PC models comprise more than 80 percent of the estimated three million Pocket PCs shipped to date.
